The following errors will typically occur in Quickbooks versions 2005 and newer that utilize a Sybase type database.   • Error: The contents of this file cannot be unpacked

 Common Upgrading Errors

  • Error -6000, -82: An error occurred when trying to open the file, or An error occurred when QuickBooks tried to access the company file
  • Error -6032, -158: An error occurred when QuickBooks tried to access the company file

    These next errors were typically seen in the older versions of Quickbooks prior to and including 2004, During this time Quickbooks utilized a cIndex database. Although Intuit has stopped the support of these older versions, and will require you to do a costly upgrade before they will even consider looking at your database.
